Bridget Otoo reveals how Government official apologised to her after e-levy brouhaha

Ghanaian TV presenter Bridget Otoo has narrated how Senior government officials of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ordered people to attack her after she shared a transaction on Ghana’s electronic Levy (E-levy) on social media.

According to Bridget Otoo’s narration, She revealed information towards Bank transact on the E-Levy foregoing its passage but all was tagged ‘fake news’ on social media that triggered the said attack.

In her tweet, She specified that, after the information went viral, One of the Senior government officials in the NPP ordered a gang to attack her over a fake news spread.

After further investigation, every information shared by the presenter was vivid. The government official then privately apologized to her.

Ghanaians should not be surprised if government appointees refused to apologise for their wrong doing because that is actually the attitude of politicians; says Bridget Otoo.

“Sometime last year I think, a senior member of this government tweeted sth for his base to attack me over a bank transaction on e-levy. They tagged it ‘fake’ – it wasn’t. When the truth came out he called to apologize to me but admitted he couldn’t do it publicly. I shrugged.

“So please don’t be surprised when they don’t apologize, or defend their abuse and insult. It goes all the way to the top of the NPP hierarchy,”

After her comment, Some Ghanaians called on the Governor of Bank of Ghana (BoG) Dr. Ernest Adison to apologize to Ghanaians after referring to the #OcuppyBoG demo.
