Africa has a rich culture as well as great talents. Hip Pop as a genre celebrated its 50th anniversary on the 11th August, 2023. Over the years of the genre’s intervention and evolution, African rappers have contributed a huge impact as hip pop is concerned.
African rappers like Olamide, Sarkodie, M.I Abaga, Nasty C, the late AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Stogie T, K.O, M.anifest, Sarkodie and Amerado Burner have contributed a lot to the rap scene. With their Punchlines, good Lyrics etc. has helped grow the genre in Africa.
The west has noticed the biggest among Africans who are producing quality songs from their musical culture. The likes of Rick Ross and the rest are gradually featuring African talents and even to the extent of giving these young rappers a space of managing them in their record labels.

Micheal Nana Yaw Owusu Addo Jnr., known in showbiz as ‘Sarkodie’ remains the best and fastest rapper in the entire Africa as well as Hip Pop is concerned.
Sarkodie became one of the biggest rappers in Ghana in the Mid 2000s. Sarkodie came with a local dialog in Ghana (Akan). He dominated with his style of rap and gained massive followers in the country. He became a household name that everyone wished to become someone like him. He is actually one of the biggest artists young musicians/rappers lookup to.
Sarkodie has been consistent since he came to limelight with players like Edem, Obrafour, and others. In two decades Sarkodie has been able to achieve multiple awards in the music scene. He has never missed a nomination in any recognized entertainment awards Scheme in Ghana.Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) has presented to him countless awards since Sarkodie came to limelight.
