Charles Nii Armah popularly known as ”Shatta Wale” ruined insults on the managing director and the owner of Despite Group of Companies.
Shatta Wale posted on his X (formerly twitter) that he received 80,000 pounds ”Eighty-thousand pounds” from the organizers of the just ended music awards in London ( Ghana Music Awards UK, GMAUK).
After posting it on his timeline, Entertainment host at Peace FM, Akwasi Aboagye had a commentary about the said amount claimed by the Ghanaian dancehall artist. According to Akwasi Aboagye, he disagreed with Shatta Wale.
”The Organizers cannot even pay Twenty-thousand pounds” Aboagye stated.
Angry Shatta Wale was shocked about what the presenter said about his post. Shatta insulted Akwasi Aboagye and over reacted to the extent that he insulted the owner of the station. ”No apology” Shatta stated after he rubbishes Aboagye and his bosses. He also stated that Aboagye must be sacked as he is not a qualified journalist.
Days after the brouhaha, the entertainment program that features prominent people at United Television (UTV) ”United Showbiz” condemned the act.
The former manager of Shatta Wale Emmanuel Barns publicly known as Mr Logic, political activist cum musician Kwame Asare-Obeng known as ”A Plus”, Entertainment pundit ”Arnold Asamoah” and Vida Adutwumwaa all were the panel members of United Showbiz last Saturday 14th October, 2023 expressed their disappointment over the level the musician took the commentary of Akwasi Aboagye that made him talk against Despite and Fadda Dickson.
Mr Logic deeply expressed his disappointment of why Shatta Wale involved the Ghanaian business Mogul “Dr Osei Kwame Despite, the station’s Managing director Fadda Dickson. He stated that the dancehall king should have fought the journalist alone because his management was not part of the commentary.
Arnold Asamoah also seconded what Mr Logic said about the reaction of Shatta Wale. ”Shatta Wale is worth more than the said amount” Arnold added.
”Shatta Wale has received One hundred and Twenty-thousand dollars before ($120,000)” Arnold revealed. He also advised Aboagye to investigate an issue before making any comment.
Kwame Asare-Obeng known as A Plus who is a big fan of Shatta Wale was also disappointed as the artist involved the Business Mogul and the managing director of United Television, Father Dickson in the issue. A Plus stood on the artist’s behalf and rendered an unqualified apology to the big men and also promised to make Shatta Wale apologize to the moguls.
Vida Adutwumwaa who was at the program that Saturday called on the organizers of the scheme that they should re-negotiate with Shatta Wale about the amount he claimed that GMAUK paid to him. She stated that Shatta Wale doesn’t deserve the said amount due to some incident that happened during his performance. She emphatically says how he arrived at the scene and the guys who were unlocking his robot didn’t know what to do after his arrival. Adutwumwaa says it was a total failure. ”His performance was poor. The organizers should take their money back,” Adutwumwaa added.
She also expressed her disappointment on how Shatta Wale reacted to the commentary of Akwasi Aboagye for adding the business mogul to the incident.
Meanwhile Shatta Wale won Artist of the Year awards and other four that he was nominated for. Piesie Esther also performed and had some controversies with her dress. Piesie’s Zip was having a problem while she was performing at the event. She tried to fix the open space with her gown but failed.
